I'm not sure that he was term limiting himself like you mentioned in your tweet. I think he was more just clear on the idea that if things didn't turn around over his first term then it's unlikely for him to achieve a second term. Looking at polls and the numbers as they're going right now, it looks like he had pretty reasonable insight there.

Gary I missed reading and commenting on this, several months ago. If you see Rick and I talking, stand back and observe -who- is playing -who-. Our political relationship is similar to that of a snake and a mongoose. . . :) Rick throwing me under the bus? Of course he would. Remember, 'gamers' always like to 'game' gamers. . .and this is amateur hour kind of games, compared with what is going on nationally and internationally. Give me a hand with Let's Talk - Spartanburg - I still am trying to persuade a very reluctant Trey to speak on a regular basis there, however, with or without Trey we usually have interesting speakers from all sides of the spectrum, civic and political, and from both sides of the Tea Party there.

Federal judges and other bureaucrats are appointed, often for life, and there is nothing, after the fact, that we as voters, can do about it, but I hear nobody calling for "term limits" for those persons. Why is it that we would limit terms for those offices that we, as voters, have the power to limit with our vote? Is it just me....or is something wrong with this picture?

I for one, am so sick of these people attempting to say I have no family values and they need to 'help me'. I am a conservative and this is not what I feel we should be focusing on. Leave me and my family alone !!! Common Sense please. You are exactly right, how is this stopping someone from going across the state line or stocking up on Christmas Ev? Further more, the small business owners would be told they cannot conduct business and make money in the failing economy, which government is continuing to ignore. How about conducting business on other religious holidays other than Christians. And domestic violence??? You need to look at your laws on putting these people away because not having being able to purchase 'alcohol' on religious holidays will not stop the violence 363 remaining days . GEEZ!!

Gary, the public hearing tonight is the ONLY hearing in the Upstate....conducted by the HOUSE subcommittee. The public hearing two weeks ago was the ONLY hearing conducted by the SENATE subcommittee. The House and the Senate subcommittees work separately.

After the way he was disregarded and mistreated by some of "us" last time around, justice should have us beg like little vagrants on bended knee for his appearance. However, being the gentle man that he is, the Good Doctor Paul would never ask us to grovel, he is probably waiting on a sincere (emphasis on sincere) invitation from us.

Got a postcard from the NRA today supporting Steve Parker and citing why they support him and that he has an 'A' rating and that his opponent (unnamed) has an 'F' rating. While I'm sure that they refer Delores Frazier, Parker's main opponent in this race is Davenport. I'm pretty sure Ralph Davenport doesn't have an 'F' NRA rating.

I'm still not sure which of the two I'll vote for, but this ticked me off enough that I'm more inclined to vote for Davenport at the point.

I'm pretty sure Davenport has an 'A' but I'm having trouble finding out for certain. Can anyone help?

It will probably come down to the democrats I think.

On one hand you have the conservatives who really don't know who the candidates are and will vote for the guy with the R next to his name regardless.

Then you have the tea-party folks who will vote for whoever can position themself as the most conservative... in this case that's Davenport.

Then you have the much smaller group of Democrats/Liberals/non-conservative independents. Together those groups don't have enough clout to put Frazer in. If they do cross to the other two... the lesser evil for those folks would be Parker I think.

I think Parker gets enough of those votes that he wins... because he's not quite as conservative (though I bet he hates hearing anyone say that).
